Overview
Our
research focuses on exploiting the multiple non-covalent
substrate-catalyst interactions (electrostatic interactions, Van der
Waals forces, π-effects, hydrophobic effect ) for the design of
synergetic asymmetric catalysis, to address selectivity challenges in
synthetic chemistry, to make conceptual advances, to shed light on
mechanistic understanding. The objective is to create new structural
entities for catalysis, integrating rational design, organic synthesis,
performance evaluation, mechanistic investigation and so on. Continuous
efforts will be made to construct bioactive molecules including chiral
compounds and natural product analogues and to study their corresponding
bioactivities and interesting biofunctions as well.
